NYE

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Yay, work let us go at 1pm so now we have the afternoon to putter around before it’s time to go over to T’s house for Chinese and horror movies at 7pm. We have some chores we should do, but I’m in no hurry. We have all day off tomorrow, too, of course, so we can take care of them then if we don’t get to them this afternoon.

I see quite a few people are doing a breakdown about 2007 and/or a list of New Year’s Resolutions for 2008, but we’ve decided we’re not going to do that. 2007 was fine, another complete year of not being depressed and avoiding most drama, and I’m hopeful that 2008 will be more of the same, plus a second master’s degree and a condo. That’s it, really.

I hope everyone has a superfantaswonderfultic NYE, and a good start to 2008.

So yeah

Sometimes you just can’t know what people are going to do. I think it’s going to be a long night. Yay for meltdowns! or not.

La la la.

Oh dear

It seems I left some Weiss Kreuz fanfiction out there on the Internet. It’s from 2002! I only just got reminded of it because someone went to fanfiction.net and added it to their watch list and I got a notification. I guess I should try to remember my login for fanfiction.net so I can remove the story (after reading it first, of course, but I’m scared to).

*doop doop doop*

Ok, I read it. It’s surprisingly tame. I think I’ll just login and delete it completely. My fanfiction days are long gone, not that they were ever around much to begin with!

San bought us a black dress, the kind that’s made of slinky material and has no sleeves, like a shell (except it comes to our ankles). He also got a blue sweater slinky kinda thingie to go over it. It’s totally not the sort of thing I would have ever tried on, but it looks pretty good on us all things considered, and we do need something for the occasional job interview or funeral. I guess I should buy black panty hose and a black bra and maybe a black slip to go under it. We already have shoes that’ll work for that sort of outfit. He’s always surprising me. We tried to take pictures for L/L but they didn’t come out very well. I’ll have to ask T to do it for us tomorrow night maybe.

We had a good, but long, day with T. Tomorrow night we’re going over to her house around 7pm to watch a Suze Orman DVD and then Hostel, and have Chinese delivered for dinner. Sounds like a good NYE to me!

Shopping!

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

My friend T pinged me Friday and asked if I’d like to go shopping at the outlet mall today. The answer to that is always yes! You know, for years I never ever went shopping. I hated it. Wouldn’t do it. I still loathe regular malls, but I’ve found that doing some 10%+ off shopping with a girlfriend is a lot of fun. Plus they have lots of stores at this mall with clothes that fit me, and so that makes the whole experience a lot more fun than it’s ever been before. I might buy something today and I might not, but regardless it’ll be fun to hang out with T and have lunch and look at stuff.

Tomorrow I work, and then in the evening we’ll go over to T’s to watch a movie and have dinner and just generally have a calm NYE celebration. This’ll be the first time I’ve gone out for NYE in a very long time. I doubt I’ll even still be there for midnight but if I am that’s cool.

I think the keyword for my life lately is low-stress. After an abusive childhood and an abusive marriage and subsequent bad choices in men and friends and so on, I’m glad to have things be calm and in their place without fights or drama or anger or whatever. We have a few very good friends, we have L/L, we have my sister, and we have kitties. That’s turning out to be plenty for a good life. I have accepted my introversion, heh. :)

I hope everyone is doing well!

I have done very little that could be considered functional today. We’ve had dates, watched a movie, and played around online. Now I think I’ll take a bath and then return to blob on the couch with another movie until it’s time for more dates.

It is so good to be home!!!
