Quote

“If you love the sacred and despise the ordinary, you are still bobbing in the ocean of delusion.”
– Lin-Chi, The Taoist Classics, translated by Thomas Cleary

Weekly horoscope

I like this one for some reason. Maybe because it talks about water. We do love water.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): If you wanted to, you could be a skilled rainmaker in 2008, and make big bucks catalyzing downpours in drought-stricken areas. Your magical potentials are such that you might even be able to divert the flows of rivers, purify the pollution out of suffering lakes, and staunch the tears of people who’ve cried way too much. In other words, Pisces, you will have great power over the element of water. You could even use your wizardry to achieve a masterful equanimity toward your own oceanic emotions.

Oceanic is about damned right.

It’s all about the mayonnaise

Today was a long day, and we have to pop back into work at 8pm to do a few software installs, but overall things are good. I did manage to bring some things to donate to the Goodwill, and stop by the Post Office yet again, and pick up some lunch while I was out. The rest of the day was spent putting out fires for work.

L/L had a really long day, too, so there won’t be any dates tonight. I think I’ll go take a nice hot bath and climb into my pajamas and just lounge about until it’s time to work at 8pm. When all of that’s done (shouldn’t take much more than an hour), I think I’ll go to bed early. Mmm, bed. Warm bed with kitties!

The majority of my EIGHTEEN BOOKS came today. Four boxes from Amazon. The UPS guy had them all on a little cart, too. It was cute. Most of them are the Fables graphic novels, which I had already purchased once before but then the Canadian Post Office lost them for me when we tried to send them to Lynn earlier this year. Grrr. I really want her to read these because they’re really great twists on the the classic fairy tales, but I don’t trust the Canadian Post Office! I’ll figure something out. Maybe when I get my next $100-we-love-you gift from my company, I’ll buy them for Lynn and have them shipped directly from Amazon.ca. We’ll see how it works out.

For now, though, it’s bath time with kitties and a book. I’m glad I finally got that stuff to the Goodwill. It’s been sitting in my living room for quite a while!

I hope everyone is doing well. :)
