Serving my public

Since Lea was insistent, here is the art video of zits being popped. You have been warned!

It takes all kinds

Someone made an art film of zits being popped. It was grotesquely fascinating. I’m not even going to link to it here. Ew!

I need a new dentist

OMG, the people at the dentist office pissed me off so bad! Last time I went to the dentist they gave me a deep cleaning on two of my teeth. They had said it would cost $80, but then they gave me antibiotics shots (that, after some research, I feel weren’t needed), and charged me something like $125! Today, after my cleaning, I went to pay my $10 copay and they told me it was $58 because the hygienist had done “periodontal maintenance” on those two teeth, and that every single time I got a cleaning there I’d have to have that done and pay the fee! I was livid. No one told me that’s what I was being roped into and it just fits in with all their other hard-sell tactics. The hygienist had pushed me again about the gum graft and when I told her I had no intention of having the procedure done (because it’s mostly cosmetic and I have no pain), she gave me a really mean look and wasn’t very gentle while cleaning my teeth. I’m done with them. I’m going to find a dentist who doesn’t push you to have procedures you don’t need, and who doesn’t trick you into paying more than you were told. Bastiges.

After the dentist I went and got my hair cut, which is something I’ve needed for quite a while now. I’m pleased with how she did my hair, although of course it always looks its best when it’s been freshly styled. We’ll see how it pans out tomorrow morning when I do my usual wash’n'wear routine. :)

Then I went to the Target to buy some jeans and other miscellaneous stuff. I desperately need some black shoes but I couldn’t find anything I liked there, so I might look around online. I don’t have to leave to pick up the nephew until 3pm, so I’ve got a little time to relax and do some thinking. I feel like I’ve done a full day already, and considering that I got started at 5:30, I guess I sort of have.

So. Yay, no cavities. :D

Thursday

Oops, I was wrong about Chorus being in Pennsylvania. She’s actually going to be in New Jersey, which doesn’t make a whole lot of difference as far as driving goes. MapQuest says the drive is a little over 3 hours long, which isn’t so bad, although that’s a lot of driving for one day (there and back again). Gah, I’m not sure what to do!

Okies, I guess what I’ll do is not see Chorus even though that sucks, and comfort myself with the knowledge that they’ll be in Pennsylvania the first week of April and they’ve even reserved a hotel room for me and I’ll just take some time off from work and go up there and STAY with Chorus and Birch and family for a little mini-vacation.

This way I can do the Global Blogger Meetup and actually, like, meet people and drink infused vodka, and still have some time off with friends in just a couple of weeks. Yay!

I got up at 5:30 this morning and did the software installs for my coworker. She owes me bigtime now. :D I’m all done with that, though, and now it’s time to head out to the dentist. After the dentist I’ll get my hair cut, and then I’ll come back here and probably write another entry. Because it’s good for me.

I hope everyone is doing well. :)
