Apparently I’ve been pre-approved for a 200k mortgage.
This is utterly unexpected.
After my head stops spinning I’m going to talk to my sister and start getting my ass in gear. I need to find an acceptable place and do all the paperwork and preferably get it all done before my lease is up in May. Money is suddenly even scarier than it was before, and so I’m canceling all my plans for fun trips in order to stay at home and hoard my cash.
This is almost like being grown-up.
It’s scary.
I won’t really believe it’s going to happen until I actually close on a place, though. There’s just too much that could go wrong.
Eek.

Oo yay! Yeh get it in gear, because it’s roughly 6 weeks from the offer to closing. It takes about 2 weeks just for the mortgage stuff to get all done up and like allow a week for the P&S to get written up and all lawyered over. We were browsing real estate in your vicinity after we talked to you. There’s a lot of stuff out there. Like I dunno what areas are good and stuff but then I don’t get the impression that there are many crime ridden vermin infested slums out your way…although if people don’t quit leaving trash out in the hall you may start experiencing vermin.
