I gave away my Dreamcast and my GameCube, and all the associated cables, controllers, and games. I also gave away the VCR! I moved the TV stand over to the left a bit like I had planned, and cleaned it up, and rearranged things since there was so much more room, and now I have space for a computer desk! Yay! I think I’m just going to get a computer table kind of thing, because I don’t have enough space on the other wall to do an ‘L’ desk or corner desk like I’d like. However, I do have room for a 60″ computer table and so that’s what I’ll do. It’ll have plenty of room for my work stuff, and then I’ll have my kitchen table back! I found one I like at Ikea, but to have it shipped costs twice as much as the computer table itself, so I’ll have to get my sister to go with me out there to buy one and bring it back to the apartment. Hopefully she’ll have time to do that with me this weekend, because I really want to get my living room finished up. It’s such a mess right now what with moving stuff around.
I’ve decided I’m going to be vicious with clothes and books and get rid of many many things. I just need to get the work area issue settled first so I can start tearing apart other things.
Work was hella busy today. I might take tomorrow off so I can do more house stuff, and make a trip to the Goodwill. Dunno yet though. I have to think about it a little more. Work’s been kind of depressing ever since the team lead got terminated last week. I also got made project lead for a screwed up annoying project staffed by liars and prima donnas, whee. I guess my manager thinks I can whip them into shape or something. Urgh.
I want a platform bed! But that has to wait until I’m completely done with the living room. It doesn’t make sense to tear up two areas at once.
Tomorrow is work (maybe), and then going over to my sister’s house to have dinner and watch a movie. Friday is work and then going to Games Night with my friend T. Games Night is this group of people on meetup.com who do, well, game nights, for all sorts of games. She’s been before and says it’s fun, so we’re going to go Friday night. I’m looking forward to it. I think having a social life is good, although stressful for us introverts.
I took the plunge and bought a copy of Dance Dance Revolution that came with the mat. It’s not like I get any exercise at all right now, sitting at a computer all day the way I do, and I know for a fact that DDR is fun. I think if I approach it as a video game and not exercise, it’ll be fine. I’m actually looking forward to breaking it out but I’m making myself wait until I get the living room in shape. I don’t need more mess right now!
I think that’s all for now. Oh wait. I’ve been invited by Delane& to a conference in Connecticut in August, and I think I’m going to go because it sounds interesting and also I really want to meet Delane&.
Busy busy busy.
