Today I locked in my interest rate at 5.875%. It had gone up over 6% last week so I was glad to see it drop a little today. Everything I’ve read says that rates will continue to go up, so I’m pleased to have snagged one that’s below 6%.
Also today is the appraisal. I should get the results from that in a couple of days. Tomorrow is the home inspection at 3pm.
I got a letter from the settlement company with a form to fill out about what kind of title I want, etc. It looks like since I’m getting a singular title I’ll have to prove to them that I’m actually divorced. I have certified copies of my divorce papers, but it’s annoying to have to be pulling them out 12 years after it was finalized. I guess I’ll be doing that my whole life, meh.
Anyway, things are moving right along. I should have some answers by next week as to whether or not all of this is really going to go through. Once I do, that means I can start packing!
