Unsecured WiFi is a beautiful thing.
It took about 7 hours for everything to be moved. It was a very long process, and I’m extremely grateful that T and my sister were here to help out.
T is an incredible person for getting things done. She lined all my drawers and cabinets in the kitchen with shelf liner. Then she drove to Loew’s for me and bought the brackets and shelves that I needed for the wall in the spare bedroom. Then she unpacked my entire kitchen and put it all in place, from silverware to the crockpot to all my canned goods. And THEN she hung my shower curtain. I am indescribably grateful that she did all of that for me. I owe her a very nice dinner somewhere!
I had put the kitties into their carriers pretty early on in the morning, but then I realized that the move was going to take far longer than I had thought, so I went ahead and brought them to the new place and locked them up in the master bedroom where the kitty box was already set up. When we got there a couple-three hours later with the movers, I found all three kitties crouching in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. Poor scared traumatized kitties! Once the moving was done I opened the door for them but it took them a long time to come out and start exploring, and there was much vocalization about how they didn’t approve of the day’s events so far. They seem to be calming down now, and each kitty got to have some quality mommy time, and dinner, and a treat.
After T left I took a shower and got into clean jammies, and came into my brand-new spare bedroom to mess around with computers. Imagine my joy when I discovered a beautifully high-speed unsecured wireless connection in the vicinity. Tres convenient.
Tomorrow is seeing the new Sex and the City movie with T, and playing some WoW, and unpacking. I have a functional bathroom and bedroom and kitchen, and the office will be functional as soon as I get my broadband turned on, and the rest I can deal with bit by bit.
Oh, I almost forgot to say that while T and I were resting on the couch before she left, someone knocked on the door. It was a real estate agent with a client and they wanted to know if the condo was for sale!!! I told them NO!!!
