I have a lot of things on my to-do list for today, but it’s really frickin’ hot out there, with a heat index of 100 degrees, so I’m thinking I’ll stay inside and putter around. My bedroom furniture is supposed to be delivered between 2 and 4, so we’ll see if they actually get out here. I need to set the bedroom up for the men to move the furniture in and put it together.
I have a lot of boxes and such to bring out to the trash, and grocery shopping to do, and a Post Office run to make, and things to bring to Goodwill, but like I said, outside isn’t so attractive just now so they’ll have to wait.
A kitty had its first poop accident outside of the box. I didn’t clean the box yesterday and I think this was a protest. I cleaned it up really well with 409 and cleaned the litter box and I’m hoping we don’t have a repeat. It also could be that I put the little removable side piece onto the litter box, so there’s a low wall to step over instead of the truly open area. Maybe Boodle is finding that too hard to get over even though it is very low. I’ll wait and see if there’s another accident if there is I’ll remove that bit (it just slots into the side of the box) and leave it open for her. Geriatric kitties are a lot of work!
Last night my brother-in-law needed to use my jumper cables and Jeep to jump my sister’s car. While he was doing that I grabbed the razor blade that’s been sitting in the Jeep for literally YEARS, and scraped off the bumper stickers on the back window that the ex-boyfriend put on the Jeep when we first bought it. I stuck that razor in there so long ago, meaning to scrape off those stickers, and didn’t get around to it ’til last night. They were so old by then (eight years old!) that they came off just fine. Now I don’t look like a Deadhead anymore.
Have you ever tried to push start a Volvo station wagon in the middle of a highly populated urban landscape in the middle of the night with cars on either side of the road and traffic being blocked while you struggle not to run out of your shoes? I can now proudly add that to my list of life experiences.
My BIL is so stupidly stubborn sometimes. The jumper cables were FAR faster, exactly the way Tel said they would be.
